Thanksgiving – Things to be Thankful for

I love Thanksgiving.  It is one of, if not my very, favorite holiday.  Everyone gets together to share each others’ company, eat, snooze in the recliner, eat some more, talk, snooze some more and oh – did I mention NFL Football?  Of course, MORE snoozing happens when the game is on – while the men try to have us think we don’t see them sleeping!  :)   We understand as all of our bellies are all filled with food.

I love to cook – and always have people at my house on Thanksgiving.  This is a privilege to me.  Anyone and everyone are invited to my house.  Who shows up?  Family, friends, friends of friends, neighbors and sometimes folks I have never met.  Everyone is welcome in my home.  Have you heard the saying “My house is your House?”  well, that DEFINITELY applies at mine.

I thought I would share the list of things that I am thankful for today:

  • A loving family – My family puts up with my crazy blogging, tweeting, cooking and just in general fun nature.  They understand that we must be thankful for what we have – today – now – and never forget how important that is.  They support, love and laugh at me – and are always willing to have a listening ear.  I could not be here without them – and I would not have much to look forward to without them.  Thank You.
  • True Friends – Without my friends, where would I be?  Whether I need a shoulder to lean on, or someone to have a margarita with, my friends are so very important to my happiness in life.  My friends are the BEST!  If you are reading this blog – you are on this list. YOU make my life special, YOU make me feel special and I only hope that I have been there for you as much as you have for me.  Thank You.
  • My Health – Life is short.  Too short.  I am thankful that this year, I am healthy.  As I get older, things just don’t work the same!  I have realized this year that I need to take care of myself, and think about how I can keep myself together for the next coming years!  I MUST live a long life – for a number of reasons I will not delve in to – but I have PLANS to live WAY past 100!
  • Coffee – Yes, coffee.  Well, what can I say?  I AM thankful for it!
  • Laughter – I do not think I would be “Beth” without laughter.  This is indeed – my slice of life.  Laughter must be present in my life and I am thankful for those that laugh with me, at me and make me laugh.  Thank You.

  • I’m Employed – You know, people always say “It must be hard working for a large company”.  I must say that this year I am thankful I am gainfully employed.  A rough year for work, many of my friends are going through some rough times – and I feel blessed that I am working.  Thank You.
  • My closet – Well?  I am a woman and I need that space!  My shoes need somewhere to stay!
  • YOU!  If you are reading my blog – and have made it this far, I am SO thankful for YOU!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
