Dealing with Stress – What do you do?
It is the beginning of the week….Monday morning. You are fresh and ready to kick-off the week due to the weekend relaxation you had. Oh, wait, you worked over the weekend? Well, it wasn’t a FULL 8 hours, right? So. you will be fine.
As you open your email – you realize that you are staring at a full calendar, and over 300 emails to answer from the weekend. You say to yourself “I KNEW I should have done this over the weekend”. Now, with back to back meetings and conference calls, how will you ever meet anyone’s expectations?
It begins…..that little fire in your tummy that is telling you there is too much on your plate. Well, you can work late right? You will get this done after hours.
After hours = you are up until late working.
You awake the next day only to find that you are in the same boat as yesterday.
What happened to the days where when we drove, we had no phones, no conference calls?
What happened to the days when we could really relax after work and let it go?
When can any of us remember last where we would not be writing a blog-post at midnight?
My house is quiet right now – and I am enjoying my time writing to you – with my resolution for tomorrow.
So, I have these great people I work with. They just rock. All of them. They support and assist any time I ask. They are busy too.
My goal is to make sure that they know how important that they are.
No more cranky Beth! She, is going to live elsewhere….as life, is way too short.
Hello friends! I am a p

Great reminder that there will *always* be more emails to answer and work to do than there are hours in a day, but *living* in the present is our most important task.
You just reminded me why I love you so much, Fabulous!
Well said…love the humor…and reality…of your post…and intrigued by where it went in the last couple of lines – right to a choice in attitude…and appreciation. Great to “meet” you and your writing here!
We all carry a lot of stress – mostly self-induced, so there’s no possibility of a sympathy vote, hah!
Relief comes in different shapes and forms. As an Aussie, I make good excuses to ring more Aussie red wine (greatest de-stresser on the planet!)
But on a serious note (wasn’t the last comment serious?), a lot of my stress builds up from not getting stuff done. I’m sure I’m not alone in that. And it’s by sitting down quietly and doing more WORK that I’m able to keep the stress at bay.
